Quiet Vials: Pour Puzzle · Effective 2026-09-08

Issued by Canaria Studios (De Canaria LLC). Questions about it go to dev@thecanaria.com.

Quiet Vials collects nothing in its offline builds — the App Store build and the Poki build have no network access at all. The other two count gameplay events for us under a random per-install id, and both ask you first. The studio's own web build — the one on this site, and the one uploaded to itch.io — does that and nothing else: no third-party ads, and no advertising SDK in it at all. The CrazyGames portal build runs on CrazyGames' page and uses their SDK for the portal signals and for saving your progress; it carries no third-party ad placement either. Either of the two posts your result to the shared daily board if you play it. All four builds may show a card for another Canaria Studios game after a win: bundled artwork, no SDK and no network request behind it. It asks you about the play data before it happens, the daily board has its own switch, and both live in Settings. None of the four builds have an account or in-app purchases.

This policy is generated from the build profiles declared in the game's own manifest, so it describes what each build actually contains rather than what anyone remembers about it. Each heading below is one shipped build.

The App Store app (iPhone), once submitted

The app loads entirely from files bundled inside it and never opens a network socket — the networking package is excluded from this build outright.

Quiet Vials has not yet been submitted to the App Store. This is the build that submission will use, described honestly ahead of time.

The browser version (this site, and the itch.io upload)

This build is delivered over the network like any web page, so your browser makes the ordinary requests any page makes and your IP address is visible to the host serving it. It shows no third-party ads and carries no advertising SDK of any kind.

It does count gameplay, and it counts exactly what the CrazyGames build counts: the events, the four things that travel with every batch and the daily-board post are all described under that build's heading below, and are not restated here so that a second copy cannot drift from the first. What is different is what is absent — there is no ad SDK, so there is no third-party transmission of any kind and the ads question is never put to you.

You are asked on first launch, with Accept and Decline offered equally, and you can change your mind at any time under Settings — "Share play data". Turning it off stops this collection and discards anything still waiting to be sent.

The CrazyGames portal build

This build runs inside CrazyGames' own page and uses their SDK for the signals the portal asks of any embedded game — a gameplay start/stop pair, a cue on a win, and the SDK's save store, which keeps your progress on CrazyGames' regional domains and in their mobile apps, where a browser would otherwise discard it. It carries no third-party ad placement of any kind and requests no third-party advertising inventory through that SDK.

It is also the one build that counts gameplay: levels started, finished and left, moves and undos, dead ends, boosters used, personal records, plus a note when saving to your device starts failing and a crash report when something goes wrong. Every value is a number, a yes/no or a choice from a fixed list; the one free-text field is a browser error message, shortened and stripped of addresses, file paths and identifiers before it is recorded.

Four things travel with every batch rather than inside an event, and none of them is a name or an account. A random id for this installation, which the server never stores as sent — it stores only a keyed hash of it under a secret it never publishes. A random id for the current session, which it does store, minted fresh each time you play and gone when you close the game. Your country, a two-letter code our host works out at the network edge; your IP address is not read by the game's server and is not stored. And your time-zone offset, so a day boundary can be read the way you experienced it. There is no advertising identifier, no precise location and no tracking across other sites or apps, and nothing here is sold or shared with advertisers.

You are asked on first launch, with Accept and Decline offered equally, and you can change your mind at any time under Settings — "Share play data". Turning it off stops this collection and discards anything still waiting to be sent.

One thing this build sends is not analytics and is not covered by that answer: if you play the daily board and finish it, your result goes to the shared daily leaderboard — the same installation id (hashed on arrival), a random id for that run, your score, the level, how long it took, and the board's date and seed. No name is stored, because that board has nowhere to put one. It has its own switch, under Settings — "Post my result to the daily board"; turning that off stops it. Opening the daily also asks our server for the day's seed.

CrazyGames' own privacy policy covers the portal page itself, separately from this game.

The Poki portal build (offline proof)

This build is an offline proof of the Poki packaging path and is not yet live on Poki. It makes no network connections, shows no third-party ads and collects no analytics.

Universal opt-out signals

Any build of this game that runs in a browser reads the Global Privacy Control signal (navigator.globalPrivacyControl) the moment it starts. A signal received this way turns off gameplay analytics and personalised ads for that install immediately, with no dialog shown — the same outcome as declining the in-game privacy question — and it is honoured as a standing opt-out request, not a one-time answer.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

To stop this game sharing device data with an advertiser to choose an ad, or sending gameplay analytics, open Settings inside the game and turn off “Personalised ads” and “Share play data” — the same controls the first-run question sets, where a build has one; a build that never asks that question shows neither control because there is nothing to turn off. If Settings is not reachable on your build, email dev@thecanaria.com and ask; the request is honoured the same way.

Purpose of use

Where a build's profile permits it, the data described above is collected only for: measuring which levels are started and cleared, to tune difficulty and the in-game economy, and diagnosing crashes and errors. It is tied to a random identifier generated for this install, never a name, an email or an account, and it is never sold.

What is stored, and where

Your progress — level, coins, streak, booster charges, settings and unlocked themes — is saved only on your device, in the app's own private storage or your browser's local storage. No build sends your saved game anywhere. Two of the four builds — the App Store build and the Poki build — send nothing at all, because the networking code is not in them; the browser build and the CrazyGames build send what is described under their own headings above — the event counts, tagged with a random id for this install, and, if you play the daily board, that day's result — and nothing beyond it.

Children's privacy

Quiet Vials is not directed at children. It asks for no personal information from anyone, of any age.
